Call for Proposals
We are calling all interested potential workshop or presentation facilitators to submit a proposal to the Texas University & College Counseling Centers Conference (TUCCCC), hosted by Dallas College at the North Lake Campus in Irving, Texas on February 5th and 6th, 2026.
Incentives for presenters include complimentary registration for the TUCCCC 2026 conference.
The 2026 TUCCCC theme is: “Moving Through Seasons.” It is meant to expand upon conversations from previous years and to encourage topics of navigating change, advocacy, and resiliency to be brought forward. This theme resonates deeply with the evolving landscape of mental health care, particularly in college/university counseling centers where mental health professionals face a complex array of issues. These issues can include restructuring, staff retention, state and federal mandates, diversity, inclusive environments, limited resources, and finding work/life balance. In the context of long-standing social justice issues and the current political climate, we may need to respond with continuous adaptation, advocacy, resiliency, and innovation while supporting well-being of students and ourselves.
We welcome workshops that offer the opportunity for breakout sessions to address the ongoing challenges in college/university counseling centers, how we can advocate for our students and for ourselves, and to embrace resiliency.
Examples of exercises/dialogues include:
Considerations for work with diverse populations during the current time
How to help clinicians navigate systems that may not support staff during this time
Awareness of our own challenges related to diverse populations and social movements
The significance of simultaneously undergoing similar experiences as our clients
While proposals addressing the conference theme will be given priority, TUCCCC welcomes proposals that apply to college and university counseling centers in general (i.e., suicide prevention efforts, group programs, innovative and empirical techniques, etc.). We also encourage submission of presentations addressing ethical concerns at counseling centers to help us offer ethics CEUs at the conference.
TUCCCC encourages creativity in presentations and seeks to offer a range of topics that provide a well-balanced and positive conference experience. We encourage you to use your creativity to incorporate a variety of teaching methods, such as: role plays, case studies, group discussion, personal growth exercises, videos, exploration of group dynamics, etc. All presentations should be based on current research literature. Presentation format lengths can be 60 minutes or 90 minutes.
Submission Deadline is DECEMBER 25, 2025 (now extended)
Please submit your proposal by emailing your completed program submission form and a current vita (or resume) to Cherrender Haynes at CherrenderHaynes@DallasCollege.edu for review by the TUCCCC program committee. The deadline for proposal program submission is December 5, 2025.

General TUCCCC and TUCCCPA Information:
TUCCCC stands for the Texas University & College Counseling Centers Conference, which is designed exclusively to serve all types of counseling center professionals at Texas college and university counseling centers. This annual conference is sponsored by a rotating Texas university host, with each host traditionally offering TUCCCC for two consecutive years. The conference is also supported by the Texas University & College Counseling Center Professionals Association (TUCCCPA). TUCCCPA was created to provide structure and continuity to the conference as it shifts between hosting universities. It is important to us that TUCCCC is inclusive of individuals with disabilities and accessible to all participants and presenters. For questions about accessibility or to request an accommodation to participate fully in this event (e.g., communication access, alternate formats), please contact TUCCCPA President Dalia Blell at daliablell@dallascollege.edu.
